A chance encounter in a Hamburg apartment building brought Markus Baumanns and pediatrician Professor Søren Gersting together. Today, they are building Iniuva together—a startup that uses artificial intelligence to develop drugs for rare genetic diseases in children. Company Companions is on board as an investment partner: Markus Baumanns will serve as chairman of the board and, together with Gersting, is establishing the governance and financing structure for the next phase of growth. “ZEIT für Unternehmer” met with the two for an interview.
